Message from the BCNET President & CEO, Bala Kathiresan
We are receiving many questions about whether we are moving forward with hosting an in-person BCNET CONNECT Summit at the Sheraton Wall Centre on March 8-10, 2022. We are earnestly preparing to welcome you to the summit offering you the unparalleled in-person experience that you have come to expect from BCNET with enhanced protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
Your Safety is our Priority
Rest assured that your safety is top of mind, as we continue to work with the Sheraton Wall Centre and Vancouver Coastal Health to make certain that comprehensive safety measures are in place and are updated, as necessary. Please visit our website for ongoing updates about our health and safety protocols.
Here are a few the safety measures that we can tell you about
Proof of Vaccination is Required
We require all delegates to be fully vaccinated and will be checking vaccination status upon arrival onsite
Plan to Wear a Mask
Delegates will be required to wear face masks during all event activities.
- Event personnel with remind attendees to wear a proper-fitting mask
- Bring your own mask to cover the nose and mouth and that can be worn comfortably all day.
- We will provide masks on-site if you need one.
Lots of Space to Spread out at 50% Capacity
The Sheraton Wall Centre is a large facility that occupies an entire city block, so there is plenty of space to spread out. At 50% capacity the Summit can accommodate 450 attendees, which is half of our usual event attendance. We are working with the Wall Centre to design the event so that there is lots of space in the session rooms for attendees to distance.
Monitor Your Own Health
If you or someone you’ve had close contact with has recently tested positive for COVID-19, or hasn’t been feeling well, please refrain from attending the in-person event.
Hand Sanitizers Will Be Provided Throughout The Event
Enhanced Cleaning Will Be provided By The Wall Centre to Disinfect All Surfaces
