The Juniper contract offers two edge switch families under one agreement.
BCNET signed a revised, three-year contract with Juniper in January 2017, which has an optional two-year contract extension for an aggregate term of five years. These edge switches offer a cost-effective, versatile enterprise access solution for higher education institutions in B.C. Juniper series of Ethernet Edge Switches can be purchased through Juniper's Authorized Elite Resellers.
Juniper Networks EX3300 switch delivers a high-performance, flexible and cost-effective solution for today’s most demanding converged data, voice, and video enterprise access environments. It supports Juniper Networks Virtual Chassis technology, allowing up to 10 switches to be interconnected over uplink ports and managed as a single logical device to deliver a scalable, pay-as-you-grow solution for expanding network environments.
Juniper Networks EX3400 Ethernet Switch delivers a high-performance, flexible, and cost-effective solution for today’s most demanding converged data, voice, and video enterprise access environments.
The EX4300 Switches are compact, fixed-configuration platforms that can be deployed as standalone systems or as part of a Virtual Chassis or Virtual Chassis Fabric switching architecture, satisfying a variety of high-performance branch, campus, and data center access needs. Offering a full suite of Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching capabilities, a single 24-, 32- or 48-port copper- or fiber-based EX4300 switch can be deployed initially. As requirements grow, Virtual Chassis technology allows up to 10 EX4300 switches to be seamlessly interconnected and managed as a single device, delivering a scalable, pay-as-you-grow solution for expanding network environments.
