The ITIL® framework has evolved and important enhancements have been introduced. If you have earned an ITIL® 4 certification, you do not need to retake the full two-day Foundation course to move forward. 

The ITIL® (Version 5) Foundation Bridge is an official transition pathway designed specifically for ITIL® 4 certificate holders who want a fast, focused way to understand the enhancements introduced in ITIL® (Version 5). The Bridge course enables your organization to protect and extend the value of its existing ITIL® 4 investment. Rather than repeating foundational concepts, the Bridge focuses exclusively on the enhancements, refinements, and emerging practices introduced in ITIL® (Version 5).

Who should attend:

This course is designed for professionals who currently hold these certifications whether still valid or expired:

• ITIL® 4 Foundation
• ITIL® 4 Managing Professional (MP) modules
• ITIL® 4 Strategic Leader (SL) modules
• Any ITIL® 4 certification (excluding Cloud and Sustainability extensions)

This course includes:

• Certified instructor-led training
• 1-day live online training
• ITIL^® 5 Foundation Bridge Course online exam (Must be self-scheduled and completed within 30 days of the final class date)

By completing the Foundation Bridge, students will:

• Understand the structural evolution from ITIL^® 4 to ITIL^® (Version 5)
• Identify new terminology and emphasis areas
• Clarify how advanced designation streams are structured
• Prepare directly for the Foundation Bridge examination

This engaging two-day course introduces students to the ITIL® Version 5  framework—the latest evolution of the globally recognized ITIL® methodology. Version 5 builds on ITIL® 4, and reflects the needs of today's digital, AI-enabled, product-centric organizations, offering an integrated approach to managing digital products and services across their full lifecycle.

Transitioning from ITIL® Version 3 or 4

If you already hold ITIL® 4 Foundation: You do not need to retake Foundation to move into ITIL® Version 5 advanced modules. 

If you hold ITIL® 3 Foundation: We recommend ITIL® Version 5 Foundation training and certification to align with updated practices and modern digital realities.
