Thanks to Paul Stokes, outgoing Board chair

It is with great honour and appreciation that we thank Paul Stokes, outgoing chair of the Board, for his outstanding commitment, dedication and professionalism serving the Board of Directors and our member community for the past six years.

He has done an exceptional job in helping shape BCNET.

Paul served as Board chair since 2014, and as a Director of the Board, since 2009. He also operated as chair for the Nominating and Governance Review Committee, where he was instrumental in shaping the governance of BCNET.

"We greatly appreciate Paul's hard work in helping build and evolve BCNET as a shared IT services organization," says Michael Hrybyk, president and CEO of BCNET. "His leadership has been characterized by innovative ideas and strategic thinking and his efforts have helped support and grow our visibility within the sector. On behalf of the Board and our Member community, we thank Paul. He will be missed by all."

Paul has been the chief information officer at the University of Victoria, responsible for information technology services across the University, including academic, administrative and research. He has over 20 years of experience in information technology, with 14 years in higher education. He has a Master's degree in Computer Science, holds a long list of industry certifications, and is a dedicated lifelong learner. Paul will be moving on to join Gartner as an executive partner.
