The BCNET Research and Education Network is British Columbia's advanced, high-speed private network that moves big data between research and higher education institutions in British Columbia and around the world. The Network directly connects 179 colleges, institutes, research universities, federal and provincial labs and research institution sites in British Columbia. Through the BCNET Network, our member institutions link to 112 international research and education networks in over 80 countries. Membership is open to all research, education and innovation organizations and institutions in British Columbia.

The BCNET Network is one of thirteen territorial and provincial partners that collectively form the CANARIE Canadian National Research and Education Network (NREN). All provincial partners connect to the CANARIE national backbone to enable peers across the country and more than 100 global research and education networks.
