Cybersecurity Challenges in Higher Ed: A Proposal for Shared Chief Information Security Office
In collaboration with members, BCNET is exploring the possibility of a shared chief information security officer (CISO). The role of a shared CISO aims to address the current information privacy and cybersecurity challenges faced at our member institutions. In response to member interest, BCNET developed a shared CISO proposal that they will talk about in this session. The proposal came about through the collaborative efforts of the BCNET Cybersecurity and Identity Management Committee, a group of 11 institutions that aim to raise the maturity of cybersecurity and identity management for BCNET and its members. You will also hear from Farooq Naiyer, the CISO at ORION, Ontario's Research and Education Network Organization. Attend this session to learn about the proposal, provide your input and ask questions.
