What began as a means for higher education institutions to simplify server administration, EduCloud Server now hosts a growing stable of production-grade services. Today, more than 150,000 post-secondary students, faculty and staff in B.C. rely on EduCloud to access campus IT, applications and ERP services. The migration of a number of production-grade services to EduCloud began in 2017, as higher education institutions collectively explored ways to simplify server administration, minimize costs and safely store data in compliance with B.C.’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. They turned to EduCloud Server as a secure, trusted, private higher education cloud environment located inside B.C. and away from the flood and earthquake zone. In this panel discussion, Dean will share how EduCloud has evolved as a virtual cloud server that hosts BCNET shared services like Kaltura, Moodle, Digital Signage and Colleague by Ellucian. A panel of users will offer testimony to their experience in using EduCloud hosted solutions.
