BCNET has a mandate to work collaboratively with the higher education sector to identify, manage and operate information technology procurements to improve service delivery, cut costs and simplify processes. Today, a larger, highly cooperative procurement initiative is underway that builds on the BCNET shared IT services model. A collaboration of finance and procurement leaders at 25 institutions are working with the Ministry of Advanced Education to outline how they can refine procurements in other areas of business to maximize value and reduce costs for the sector. In this session, you will learn about the newly formed organization, its mandate, approach, and the types of procurement offerings and potential benefits for higher education in B.C.
