Like many who hailed from Ottawa, Alex was staunchly averse to cloud. Given the nature of public and shared infrastructure, he firmly believed sensitive sectors such as government, military and finance would never go to the cloud. However, over the past 5 years cloud service providers have increase security capability and we are now seeing risk sensitive organizations adopting the cloud, if not embracing it. This talk will follow Alex’s journey of enlightenment into the world of cloud and will argue how cloud can actually be more secure than traditional IT infrastructures, if you let it. This presentation will discuss cloud native secure architectures, controls and automation capabilities which can enable organizations to have better and measurable preventative, detection and responsive security capabilities.
