Over 40 years (wow, that makes me sound old), I have had the opportunity to work as a consultant and as an executive leader in health care and higher education. Over that time, I have seen significant changes in culture (people smoked in their offices), gender equity (I was asked why I would go to a conference since I was pregnant) and technology (the personal computer didn’t exist—yet. Or the internet). I also experienced different leadership skills and developed my own leadership style. As a result, I have many stories to tell. My focus will be on leadership—what I did that I think worked well and lessons I learned the hard way. Also, sharing thoughts from my past colleagues—again what worked well and what could have been better. The goal of the session will be providing participants with at least one “gem” that they can take away. And, of course have some fun. There will be lots of time for dialogue and discussion.
