Instructors and teachers, whether classroom-based or online, sift and balance many considerations when considering the adoption of educational technology (ed. tech.) tools in their work. Part of the challenge of fully understanding these considerations is that they are often unique to a specific instructor with a specific set of learners and a specific educative need. This session seeks to open a dialogue by pointing at some of the concepts and elements that are "balanced" or weighed in the adoption of ed. tech., and posits a "balance principle of educational technology adoption" for discussion. Also, example tools and systems will be referenced with respect to this balance principle.
