Empowering Youth Through Education

For the 2026 CONNECT Tech Summit, BCNET is proud to continue its commitment to supporting the Youth Futures Education Fund (YFEF) by raising funds to help increase access to higher education for young adults in the communities we serve. BCNET believes that when more people have access to education, the entire community benefits.

We are pleased to bring back the virtual silent auction, made possible through the generous support of our industry partners and sponsors. The silent auction will run from April 21 to April 23, opening at 9:00 AM on April 21 and closing at 5:00 PM on April 23

By placing a bid, you are making a direct impact on youth education and helping create brighter futures through access to higher learning. Join us in supporting this important cause and make your bid count!

More information about the silent auction will be available soon!

  • About Youth Future's Education Fund

The Youth Futures Education Fund helps create equal educational opportunities for young adults who have been in government care. At the age of 19, youth in care “age out” of the foster care system and subsequently lose all support from their foster families, social workers, and government programs. Although they are eligible for a tuition waiver, the loss of this assistance makes pursing post-secondary education much more challenging.

We are Making a Difference through the Youth Futures Education Fund.

When more people have access to higher education, the entire community benefits. That's why we are committed to supporting youth education, helping those in need and making a difference in the sector in which we serve. Post-secondary education not only helps a young person realize their potential, but also helps establish a network of friends, colleagues, and mentors. All youth should have the same opportunities to pursue this reality. The Youth Futures Education Fund recognizes this and is here as a support to youth aging out of care. Since 2021, BCNET has raised over $56,450 to support the Youth Futures Education Fund.
